Dr Kate Renshall, B.A (Hons), MSc., D. Clin Psych
Hi, I'm Kate — a Clinical Psychologist with a particular passion for the psychology of relationships and how they shape who we are.
I've been working with individuals, couples and families for over ten years, and what draws me to this work is the profound impact our closest relationships have on our wellbeing — and the profound impact our wellbeing has on our relationships. The two are inseparable, and that's where I love to work.
I completed my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney, and since then have built a practice focused on the moments in life where relationships are under the most pressure: becoming a parent, navigating a separation, rebuilding trust in a partnership, or adjusting to a new version of your family. I also work with individuals who are processing the emotional weight of these experiences on their own.
My approach is warm, practical and evidence-based. I draw on Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and I work collaboratively with you to find an approach that fits your situation and strengths.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine thinking space — somewhere you can slow down, be honest, and work through what's really going on with the support of someone objective. My goal is always for you to leave with more clarity, more tools, and more confidence in yourself and your relationships.
